What is collected

  • If you only read: nothing beyond what the server logs automatically — IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp. Logs exist to keep the site working and to block abuse, and are rotated.
  • If you register: a username and an email address. The email is used for account verification, password resets and notifications you switch on. Nothing else.
  • If you post: the content you publish, the time, and the account that published it. Posts are public by design.
  • Cookies: only what WordPress and the forum software need to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. No advertising or analytics cookies are set. No third-party tracking scripts are loaded.

What is not collected

No advertising identifiers, no cross-site tracking, no data brokers, no sale or sharing of personal data, no profiling.

How long it is kept

Account data lives as long as the account exists. Forum posts remain after an account is deleted unless you ask for them to be removed as well; the request is honoured where the thread still makes sense without them. Server logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correction of it, deletion of your account and posts, restriction of processing, or portability. Write to [email protected] and you will get an answer within 30 days. If you believe the site has handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

About the archive

The archived articles are historical texts published between 2008 and 2016. They were written under a pseudonym by someone who has never been officially identified. If you are a rights holder and want an entry removed or amended, write to [email protected] with the article title and the basis of your request; documented requests are actioned.

Children

The site is for adults. Registration is limited to people aged 18 or over, and accounts that appear to belong to minors are removed.
